The Lawns, c1890s, in Wedge Street.

Kyneton is home to one of the oldest and most notable surviving Victorian Manor houses of its era, in Australia. The property, affectionately known as The Lawns, is a delightfully dishevelled four-bedroom timber house and needs a massive amount of work.

Fifth generation Kyneton native Shannon and his wife Liza have fallen in love with the stately home and paid $1.6 million dollars for the heritage listed property, which is set on almost three thousand overgrown square metres of land.

The restoration along with garden works have been detailed in ABC TV’s Restoration Australia Series, where you’ll see Ayden & the team transform the gardens.

Garden Design in the Macedon Ranges

It's always a pleasure being introduced to a new client in the Macedon Ranges. I know right away that I'm going to like them, because the kind of people who look for a professional landscaper have respect for nature and a clear vision.

There's also a natural beauty to most of the properties in the area, from Gisborne, to Kyneton to Macedon. The lush greenery and the amazing native trees give the place a vibrancy that any plant lover will appreciate.

I've had a lot of conversations with clients about their plants, their gardens, the way the seasons change the area - because more people in the Macedon Ranges care about what's around them.

Why Landscaping in the Macedon Ranges is Worthwhile.

I was born in New Zealand, where I first developed my love of plants & nature.

But it wasn't until I moved to Kyneton, Victoria that I knew I wanted to work with plants & gardens as a living.

The Macedon Ranges is a beauty & a delight for anyone who loves nature.

The misty, dark winters around the foothill of Hanging Rock, when the plants are closed and protected. Ice-covered grass (even snow-covered grass if you're high enough).

And the startling mix of colours during autumn, when the Ranges turn into a vibrant collection of reds & oranges. It's this version of the Ranges that draws people in, an incredible, leafy retreat from the suburbs.

It's an iconic treasure. So much so that tourists from the world over are coming to see the amazing way the seasons change the Macedon Ranges.

Incredible Garden in Castlemaine

The best projects make use of a range of materials, as this Castlemaine garden did.

A combination of wooden pillars, stonemasonry & lighting really brought out the beauty of the plants and the design.

Take a look at the photos below.
